Technology just keeps moving forward and it will really be interesting to see where the state of photography is in the next 5 to 10 years!
Olympus has recently revealed it’s new updated version to the predecessors, the E-P1 and the EP2. It’s the new (yes, you guessed it!) Olympus PEN E-P3.
Touch Screen Technology for Focus and Shooting!
This looks like a fun little camera that is really pretty decent. Some of the new technology used on this camera that caught my attention is that you can use the view screen on the back as a touch screen interface. This allows you to simply “tap” on the point in the scene where you want the camera to focus. When you do that it instantly focuses and takes the shot.
Low Light Performance
The other thing I like about this camera is that it really performs alright up to high ISOs like 3200, 6400 and even 12800. This allows you to shoot in less-than-great lighting conditions and still get photos that are reasonably nice.
It Just Looks Cool!
I think this is a cool looking camera! It’s looks are pretty close to it’s predecessors, the E-P1 and 2, but they were pretty cool looking too! I’m thinking about looking to this camera as a good walk-around, street camera. It allows you a little less profile than a DSLR with a big lens, and still gets some good shots!
Roll the Tape!
Here’s a hands-on review by DigitalRevTV. I find these cats pretty entertainging anyway, so enjoy!
