The Model / Photographer Connection – Most important part of the photo shoot!

June 12, 2013 By Ted Leave a Comment

Still reviewing some of my earlier shoots with Geneva, I found this shot. It’s a very simple photo, but speaks volumes! I love this type of photo the best.

In many of my photo shoots I’m often shooting against a solid white or solid black background. This is nothing unique or unusual. You can see thousands of shots from hundreds of photographers using this type of setup.

Since the model or subject is not standing in front of some amazing architecture or landscape that means the value of the photo rests 100% on the connection between the photographer and the model and what they can produce together, not being able to rely on an interesting setting.

In this kind of shot the model is the landscape, the texture and the subject. They are carrying the value of the photo, 100%. No giant props. No dramatic setting. They are everything. I love this type of shot.
