Simple and Moody

One of the things I really love about shooting against a solid black background is that it can keep things very simple and focused on the model. And, when using a simple lighting setup to create shadows it kind of helps the model sink back into the background a bit which can create a more moody image.

This is a shot from a very early shoot I did with Geneva. I was shooting everything on black backgrounds back then. Looking through those images is kind of inspiring me to go back and do more work with that kind of setup.
