Photography is such a wonderful art form. A photograph can be intoxicating, capturing a feel, a mood, a moment.
Some images seem to jump out at you, while others draw you in. I tend to prefer the latter. I love it when I see a photo that draws me in; quietly compels me to stay and linger a bit longer; reading into what the photo has to say; feeling my imagination start to engage.
We see so many images steaming by these days. You see them briefly, and then they’re gone. For me, I think that makes the printed photo even more special now, more important. A print gives you an image that you can enjoy daily. Maybe it makes you feel a certain way; maybe it reminds you of something; maybe you can’t even put your finger on it, but you love it. I also think photographs just look so much better in print than they do on the screen. That has motivated me to make a certain selection of my photos available for people to enjoy in the form of a print.
These are some of my black and white film prints of Las Vegas. I’ve tried to show a different perspective; present Vegas in a different way than how most normally see this city.
As time allows I’ll be adding more, including photos from my Vegas Noir series; dark, moody scenes that possess qualities that might seem to evoke the feel of an earlier era.
