Pinterest has been around for a minute now, but it’s still one of the newer networks on the social scene. That being said, it’s gaining momentum quickly.

Think those inspiring vision boards don’t result in referral traffic to websites and blogs? Think again. In January 2012, Pinterest drove greater traffic to websites than LinkedIn, Google Plus, Reddit, and Youtube — combined.
Inspiration
I love finding different sources of inspiration. Often my strongest inspiration comes from the work that others did in the middle of the 20th century. I love the jazz photography that came out of the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s. I love the fashion and other photography from the ’60s and ’70s. And really, I’m just in love with Black & White, so that opens up just about everything once you get the color out of the way. 🙂
On Pinterest, for some reason, it’s one place that makes it very easy to find awesome black & white photography, fashion or otherwise. I can find a lot of retro work from the last century and a lot of new material that seems very inspired by that earlier work. Loving that!
Curating
Another thing that I like about Pinterest is it’s not just work from awesome photographers, but also awesome photography that is simply curated by fans of that work. Sometimes I even like that better. That means you’re more likely to see powerful photography, regardless of who took the shot.
Anyway, if you haven’t checked out Pinterest yet, give it a look. http://pinterest.com/
