Photography Road Trips with a Buddy
Photography Road Trips with a buddy – is there anything better!? Well, yeah, I can think a few things, but it’s definitely up there.
Garrett and I have birthdays just a few days apart in December. Every year we make a point of grabbing our cameras and head out for a photography road trip to celebrate those birthdays. Always a blast!
Photography Road Trip 2022 – Out to the Desert

There are so many beautiful and very cool areas around Southern Nevada, including heading into California, Phoenix or maybe Utah. Garrett asked me where I wanted to go for this year’s road trip… he already knows the answer anytime he asks me that question. Nelson! Nelson is one of my favorite places in Nevada. It’s this fantastic area loaded with old mid-20th Century decaying vehicles and other cool things.
Anyone who knows me, knows I love old stuff. Antiques; cars; clothes; movies… really anything of that nature acts like a time machine for me and really transports me back to a time when I best connected with the design aesthetic of that era.
Garrett Winslow

Garrett knows this country like the back of his hand. He’s lived and has been photographing here for over 50 years. He’s been everywhere throughout the area; exploring; holding photography workshops; doing desert photo shoots… you get the idea. This cat knows the area.
Definitely reach out if you’re ever in the area and want to do a Photo Safari with Garrett. You’ll be glad you did.
Here are a few shots I got on this years birthday outing.
