Back in the day (old man voice) when I was playing music full time I used to love it when the band I was in would get booked to play gigs on Freemont Street. I don’t know if it’s changed but it was great because the gigs were only three sets, paid decent, great sound and lights and the crowds were awesome to play for.
Over the past couple of weeks I’ve taken some walks down Freemont Street at night and have enjoyed a couple of the bands I’ve seen there. Very high energy and entertaining. I took a few shots while I was there. Now, I wouldn’t recommend the Fuji X100 with it’s fixed 35mm (equiv.) lens as a great setup for doing concert photography, but hey… it’s the camera I had on me and it was actually fun to see the kind of shots this camera could deliver.
Here are some of the shots I got… (click for bigger.)
