Sometimes I think so much about aspects of photography…. the gear, how to get better, how to build the client base… blah, blah, blah. It’s a lot like being a professional musician. You can get so caught up with the aspects of staying booked, the details of the gig, etc…
Although, these things can sometimes become a distraction and I’ve seen it really take the spark out of many artists, I’m happy to say that I have fun and thoroughly enjoy every photo shoot or outing I go on.
Always Something To Photograph In Las Vegas!
One recent episode of just having fun was last Wednesday night when a good friend of mine, and fantastic photographer, Garrett Winslow and I just headed out to the strip to take some photographs of Vegas at night, grab a bite to eat and just have a good time. The first order of business that night was to take a clear shot of the City Center development at Nautical Sunset. (a new term taught to me by Garrett) My best effort is the image at the top of this post.
After we got that shot, we grabbed a bite to eat, then just headed back out to see what other we shots we could get. Just fun stuff!
This is technically a very poor shot of Garrett on my part (check out that stellar focus, man!), but I think it’s still a cool shot, none the less. Garrett’s a cool guy, and a great and innovative photographer. You can see some of his work (along with his partner, JB) on their studio site: http://brooksavenuestudios.com (these cats are crazy!)
Keep Having Fun!
Okay, that’s it for this post. No matter what you do, just remember to keep having fun with it!
