Inspiration. Inspiration is an extremely valuable commodity and I’m always looking for new sources. It’s what fuels what most of us do with our photography, modeling and any art form where you can express yourself.
I’ve got a couple items I want to share with you this morning and they both pertain to things that I hope you may find inspirational, at least to some degree.
First…
Minor11.com
This site has actually been up for a little while, but I haven’t talked about it much… so I’ll talk about it now. 🙂
Minor11.com is a site that have set up where I can share thoughts and information that has nothing to do with tech info, client work, gear reviews, etc. The information I want to share on minor11.com has more to do with the artistic process; the inspiration and the thought process involved in our approach to our craft, artistically.
For the most part, I’ll probably be focused on my thoughts and point of view, although I’ll be excited to join in conversation in the comments, trading ideas and more. But I may share work from other artists from time to time; artists that inspire me and people I’d like to make sure you know about. Most of the content is likely revolve around photography, but don’t be surprised if you see an article about music, painting or any other creative area of life.
There probably won’t be a constant flow of new content (hasn’t been so far 😉 ). I will be adding new posts from time to time as the inspiration hits, but it will be nice to have a space where I can focus on what I think is ultimately important – inspiration, creativity and the artistic approach to what we do as creatives.

And Second…
Emulsion – a cryptic notebook of my film photography
Emulsion is a new project for me. It’s a (free) digital zine that will revolve around my journey in film photography.
Why a Zine?
This project has a few different purposes. One, I am using this as a personal exercise in looking through all my photos that I created throughout the month and editing them down to a small number… ten. Two, just for the sake of sharing my work with you in a downloadable format; and Three, hopefully this might inspire you to do something similar, another way to share your work with others.
Moving Forward
As this is a new project that I’ve started in March of 2017, I’ve gone back and created an issue for each of the first three months of this year so far. Currently the zine is pretty minimal, but as time goes on it has the potential to shift, grow, completely change directions, I may change the name, etc… One thing that will remain constant is the focus on film photography. I may even offer a print version down the road, if that seems like something enough people would want.
I hope you enjoy the first three issues I’ve published so far. Again, this is a free digital downloadable publication so feel free to enjoy and share with others. You can download current and future copies here:
