I lived most of my childhood in Anchorage, Alaska, then moved to Portland, Oregon when I was 19 and lived there for another 15 years.
When I was 34 I moved to Reno, Nevada, and shortly after that kept heading south, landing in Fabulous Las Vegas. (can I print that without owing someone royalties?)
Coming from such alpine-rich territory as Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, it took me a long time before I could truly appreciate the beauty of the desert. (although I instantly loved the daily blue sky! Now that was a welcome change!)
Every Place Is Beautiful
Over the past few years I have been able to open my eyes to the rich colors and textures the desert and canyon terrain has to offer. I’m looking forward to taking advantage of my good fortune to be so close to gorgeous locations like Red Rock Canyon, Zion, Antelope Canyon (and of course the Las Vegas Strip, which hosts it’s own wildlife).
